A-10 Thunderbolt II Shark Face Model
Airplane: A True Work of Art
Unbeatable museum quality best describes our handcrafted model
airplanes just like A10 Thunderbolt. After passing through the hands
of master craftsmen, the parts are sanded and primed many times.
Talented artists then paint on the intricate details with great
accuracy. A final coat of clear lacquer protects the aircraft and
gives it a glossy finish. Our A-10 Thunderbolt II Shark Face
model airplane exhibits an unmatched quality and intricate
design to obtain the exact look of the actual A-10 aircraft .
The Shark Face A-10 Thunderbolt II model plane
comes with a handsome mahogany-based chrome pedestal, and undergoes
various stages of quality control before being placed in its box.
The Shark Face A-10 Thunderbolt II model plane is perfect as an
addition to a growing collection or as an exquisite gift to a loved
one. Each A 10 Thunderbolt Shark Face model plane will surely be
appreciated by aviation enthusiasts and hobbyists for it is truly a
work of art that relives their memory of the actual A-10 airplane.
A-10 Thunderbolt with Shark Face History:
In October 1975, the first production A-10A was delivered to Davis-Monthan
Air Force Base, Ariz. It was designed specially for the close air
support mission and had the ability to combine large military loads,
long loiter and wide combat radius, which proved to be vital assets
to America and its allies during Operation Desert Storm. In the Gulf
War, A-10s, with a mission capable rate of 95.7 percent, flew 8,100
sorties and launched 90 percent of the AGM-65 Maverick missiles.
The A-10 Thunderbolt is also known as the "Flying Gun", "Tankbuster"
or "Warthog". The aircraft is simple, effective and survivable
twin-engine jet aircraft that can be used against all ground
targets, including tanks and other armored vehicles.
The US Air Force's A-10 Thunderbolt is a relatively slow but
highly maneuverable and heavily armored plane, built for attacking
ground targets in support of troops. Pilots of "pointy-nosed" fast
jets tend to look down on the slow, snub-nosed A-10 - one joke being
that its airspeed indicator is a calendar. But it can take off and
land using short runways and is able to loiter over a battlefield,
hunting for targets, in a way that fast jets cannot.
